Greetings from the Loksatta Party.
You may be aware that on May 5 a Sessions Court in Mumbai pronounced four persons guilty in the Keenan-Reuben murder case and sentenced them to life imprisonment. The judgment is testimony to the perseverance of the victims' families in their pursuit of justice within the scope of the law.
Mr Valerian Santos, father of Keenan Santos, has courageously led this fight despite having to face threats and numerous other ordeals even as he mourned the loss of his child. Eventually he has succeeded in his five-year battle for justice. Of course, he was helped in his endeavour by the determination of the officers investigating the case, the continuous focus of the media, and the good wishes of thousands of ordinary citizens who were outraged by the senseless killings and desired to see justice done.
Mr Valerian Santos will be joining us at the Loksatta Party's Byculla office on Saturday, May 14, at 6 pm for an interaction with our members and supporters. He will share with us his experiences and the insights he has gained in the course of his long struggle for justice.
