Last week High Court of Delhi reversed the well written judgment
delivered by session judge in a 164 page finding vide which he had
convicted IPS Ravi Kant Sharma and others for conspiracy to kill
Shivani Bhatnagar,a famous journalist in the year 1999. In such an
open and shut case where the learned session judge found overwhelming
circumstances to convict the accused for a cold-blooded
murder, honourable Delhi High Court judge, Justice Ahmed reversed the
decision.
We should all stand united to protect democracy and right of freedom
of speech. Truth should not be made to suffer under any circumstances.
We should appeal to The Chief Justice of Delhi High Court to withdraw
judicial work from Justice Badar Ahmed for writing a shocking judgment
and adjourn the contempt proceeding till the Supreme Court gives it
final verdict in Shivani murder case. The Police should be directed
not to threaten citizens for writing truth. Abuse of Information
Technology Act should immediately be stopped.

During our meeting today many facts came to light that are mentioned below -
1. The honorary delhi high court bench that announced the order in the
Shivani Bhatanagar case comprised of two Justices. Thus, it was a joint
decision based on the evidences available. It would not be wise to pin
point the blame on anyone alone.I withdraw my earlier email that was
remarked prematurely.
2. The meeting today turned to be more on the letter written by Shri
Ashok Arora to the honourary Justice Badar Ahmed on the following
points -
a. Contempt filed on Shri Ashok Arora by the Delhi high court.
b. Condeming the police action that has been taken against Shri Ashok Arora
c. Misuse of the IT act.
On all these points after consent with Delhi High court councils, it
was confirmed that any amount of public pressure is irrelevant on a
contempt case. Contempt is between two parties and no third party has
any relevance in intervening.
3. The intent is not to work against judicial system rather the cause
is to get justice for Shivani's murder case while working and
supporting the justice system.Whilst the matter is subjudice, the
entire team did not feel the necessity to take any action at this
point till a review petition is heard at the supreme court of India.
With the above points in line, we have decided to close the matter.
Warm Regards,
Alok K Singh
