Lok Satta Party stands for free and fair internal party elections and therefore have adopted the concept of "Independent election authority". The national leadership of the party has received a few complaints during the internal elections that were underway in Andhra Pradesh that may be affected by missing names and bogus entries in the list of eligible voters. Lok Satta Party is absolutely of one mind that the election results must reflect the views and preferences of the party's members to the fullest. To this end, the party has constituted an enquiry committee to look into the allegations of errors and misconduct in the compilation of the voter roll. The copy of NOTIFICATION to this effect is enclosed herewith;-

Lok Satta Party AP chapter has organized in March and April 2013 internal elections through secret ballot, monitored by an external Independent Election authority.  This unique experiment has been successfully conducted, and elected committees have come into existence at constituency, district and state level.  New leadership emerged in the process, and party members and leaders have been energized.  The party’s credibility is further enhanced, and this exercise becomes a benchmark by which other parties will be measured.   

This internal democratic process needs to be constantly strengthened and improved.  Certain genuine complaints have been received regarding membership rolls, especially non-inclusion of legitimate members as voters.

It has been decided to constitute an Empowered committee to review the membership enrolment process and improve the system and correct the errors.  The committee will comprise the following members:

1. Sri M Padmanabha Reddy IFoS (Retd), Member Lok Satta’s Independent Election Authority

2. Sri  M Rambabu, IAS (Retd)

3. Sri  P Kodandarama Rao, Chairman, Lok Satta’s Disciplinary Committee

Their terms of reference will be as follows:

1. To identify the errors in member enrolment and voter registration, and to rectify them

2. To suggest improvements in member enrolment and voter rolls preparation, with adequate safeguards to eliminate / minimise errors.

3. To refer to the party’s disciplinary committee cases, if any, in which any member has acted in a deliberate and malafide  manner in member enrolment; these will be based on specific complaints and evidence, and there will be no fishing expedition.  

The committee is requested to complete the exercise and furnish its report by June 30, 2013.
