I have the two parts of the sentence: {lonu mi cliva} and {ko lumci le zdani}, but I don't know how to put them together to get "When I leave, clean up the house." I was thinking that there might be a word that means "when event 1 becomes true event 2 becomes true" or something like that, but I can't find it.

One other thing: I can say {ko lumci ledo kumfa} which means "clean up your room", but how do I say "John, clean up your room"?

You can tag an event with {ca}, which indicates that it happens at the
same time as the main bridi:
ko lumci lo zdani ca lo nu mi cliva
"Clean the house when I leave."

You can move this around in the bridi:
.i [ca lo nu mi cliva kei] ko lumci lo zdani
.i ko [ca lo nu mi cliva] cu lumci lo zdani

{ca} always eats the immdediately-following sumti (when there is one).

To indicate who you are addressing, you use {doi <person>}.
ko lumci lo do kumfa doi [la] .djon.

The {la} can be omitted with cmevla (names that end in consonants, like
djon, but should be included when using selbri as names. The
doi-construct can also be moved around freely, e.g.:
doi [la] .djon. ko lumci lo do kumfa

Hope this helps

That helps alot. I can also use {pu} and {ba} to mean before and after, right?

That's right. With {pu}, the main bridi happens before the tagged event,
and with {ba}, the main bridi happens after the tagged event:

(1) mi lumci lo mi kumfa pu lo nu do cliva
"I clean my room before you leave."

(2) mi lumci lo mi kumfa ba lo nu do cliva
"I clean my room after you leave."
