OnFebruary 6, NCAC kicked off the first STEM@Home of 2021! STEM@Home is a online Nova program that enables Cub Scouts to learn Novas from the comforts of their homes! To start off the year we had two cub scout Nova classes:

In another section, the Senior Director of Innovation Research & Development from Intelligent Waves LLC, Mr. John Hammes taught cub scouts about the history of secret codes. Mr. Hammes was a cub scout as a youth and volunteered to give back as a SME (subject matter expert) guiding these cubs through the emergences and industry uses of codes.

NCAC Nova Counselor Dr. Jason Kralj then met with the combined cub scout group to teach the other elements of the 1-2-3 Go Nova Award: statistics! Cub scouts had submit survey questions in advance, which we ran as a poll in ZOOM so everyone could collect data from their peers to meet requirement 2 of the Nova. They then learned how to display the results before moving into the fun coin toss experiment!

In another class, cub scouts learned to code with NCAC Nova Counselor Mr. Mark Bruno. This is the second time Mr. Bruno taught this class in STEM@Home and the screenshot is from a step-coding game that he created and facilitated for the whole group! As you might imagine, this Nova Award covers a different type of codes than those in 1-2-3 Go. These cub scouts walked away with a better understanding of binary codes and algorithms; and those who completed the post-requisites even earned their full Nova Award!

How do you stop nova from putting subtitles in Spanish. I tried to delete them but they still appear. The language they use is in Spanish and when I go to ethe English language the subtitles go to Spanish and wont go away

I have a couple of questions.. Has anyone found an alternative to Mobdro? And has anyone else experienced issues with Film+ and redbox tv? Film+ turns the screen white and the live tv channels dont work with redbox tv. Also, livenet tv seems to have stopped working too. Who else is experiencing these issues? What are the alternatives?

I used Syncler for a year and when my Syncler+ expired last month, I tried to reactivate it and they are making the process so difficult, that I gave up and uninstalled.

I got notification from my iptv provider apparently changed the firestick yet again and downloader app developer and it annoyingly difficult to install and use 3rd party apps and this is prime example why I NEVER used Amazon devices you have zero control on a device you spend hard earned money on

every amazon fire stick and cube i have has lost the amazon launch page , apks wont launch from here only amazons films and shows ,to lauch any other apk you meed to go to settings aplications and launch from here, this has happened to 3 firesticks and 2 cubes the only way i have found to fix this return to factory settings losing all apks except amazons built in . is there a fix for this problem

An October report, written by the Particle Physics Project Prioritization Panel, gives recommendations for the next few years of particle physics projects. "The P5 Roadmap" has ramifications for particle physics in general, and specifically for Fermilab. Fermilab Today asked P5 Chair Abe Seiden, a UC Santa Cruz physicist, to describe the basics of the report, and how the important points relate to Fermilab. He broke the report down into three top priorities:1. The LHC and ILC R&D are the number one priority. "We eventually hope to build the ILC at Fermilab--though that's a bit downstream," said Seiden. "For now we want to successfully complete the R&D so we can move ahead at the end of the decade. And, of course, Fermilab already plays a large role in the LHC."2. Three small experiments are part of the second-priority category of the report: the 25 kg Cryogenic Dark Matter Search experiment, which Seiden says is "basically the next step for CDMS;" the Dark Energy Survey; and the Daya Bay neutrino experiment in China. Fermilab is heavily involved in the first two of the three. R&D for JDEM--a dark energy space mission supported by DOE and NASA--and the LSST, which Seiden says is the next step beyond the Dark Energy Survey, are also in the second priority grouping. National Science Foundation R&D funding for DUSEL--the Deep Underground Science and Engineering Laboratory--and both a large dark matter experiment and a neutrinoless double beta decay experiment are also on the list.3. The third priority is the construction of NOvA, a Fermilab neutrino project, along with what Seiden calls "modest upgrades to Fermilab's accelerator needed to maximize the reach of NOvA." Seiden adds that these recommendations should be reviewed again in a few years in order to begin construction on R&D items, "when a few different things are clarified." Big questions for the next set of recommendations will be "What are the progress of and results from the LHC?" and "What is the status of the ILC R&D?"
