I am only able to trim clips 2, 3, and 5. Clips 1 and 4 don't show the orange handles, and I can't find any documentation of keyboard shortcuts to use. I see numerous other users posting the same issue without any replies.
I just created a new project and slowed down a clip using the speed function and was able to trim it. I don't know why you are experiencing something different. Have you tried zooming in to the clip on the Timeline using the "+" key? What kind of system are you working on? Is it a Mac, a PC, or a mobile device? More info might help.
I did a little more digging and stretched out the clip using the speed function. Rush can not trim clips shorter than 10 seconds. Presumably this is due to the UI, since the orange bars overlap with anything shorter.
If the advice here does not help, please feel free to reach out for one-to-one support here. The chat pod is in the lower-right corner. Let us know what they say. I hope either they or the community can be of more assistance. What you are experiencing surely isn't right! I apologize for this frustrating situation.
I thin its a bug. Sometimes I can't trim clips that are speed adjusted, but it I put the speed back to 100% and then adjust it again, and I am able to trim. For example: Clip was sped up 144%, unable to trim. Set speed to 100%, then back to 144%, and I was able to trim.
Hi Kristian, thanks so much for the reply. I stated the question wrong. I meant clip and not track. Is there a way that I can select a clip on the timeline and only trim that clip and none of the others that aren't selected?
If you left-click on any individual clip with a mouse--that will select only that clip. Usually you need an initial selection of any one clip on the timeline before using shortcut keys. Then you can use keys like:
Thanks so much for all of the replies, I really appreciate it... Is this really the answer? That I have to lock all of the other tracks? I just want to trim the clip or clips that are selected? I just want to make sure. It seems pretty silly if so!
I'd love to hear your suggested operation of PrPro that would make it "aware" of whether the editor wants to trim one clip or the entire "stack". Any useful items are of course worth a bug/feature request.
Premiere doesn't need to be "aware". For instance now Q maps to "Ripple Trim Previous Edit To Playhead", Opt+Q "Trim Previous Edit To Playhead". Add one more modifier for a command like "Trim Previous Clip Edit To Playhead" and another for "Ripple Trim Previous Clip Edit To Playhead". Ex. Cmd+Opt+Q or Ctl+Opt+Q. And then the user could map it however they like, but at least the commands would be there.
None of these are what I am asking. Any regular clip I am trying to grab the end and drag it in and it's not letting me if I command click it makes an insert cut and bumps the footage down. I know in other editors it does that but for some reason something as simple as grabbing the end and dragging it to trim the size of he actual region is not possible. Also dragging a clip does the same thing.
There is still no answer for this question yet. I have the same question. Why don't Adobe give us decide which clip to trim by select the clip instead trim all the track (using shortcut Trim edit to playhead). Please answer and do some actions, please.
yes, that seem like the only work around for now. Why don't Adobe design Trim edit to playhead work only for the selected clip. I wonder how many time other editor want to trim all their tracks. I believe trim selected clip is more often than trim all the tracks
Is this still not possible? I just came across the same thing, and it doesn't wanna go into my mind how all my clips get trimmed if i press Q, W or Shift+Q and Shift+W. It doesn't make any sense... If i want all the Clips to be trimmed, or more than one, i just select more than one, but if i only select one, it should only trim one... Does that really not make sense? This would help alot with animation subtitling where you create text boxes that just appear for a fraction of some seconds sometimes so you can set markers on the waveform of the audio and then just jump through the markers, select the subtitle word and just trim in and out on the markers. Right now if you have overlapping subtitles it just trims all of them which doesn't make any sense...
The closest thing and cleanest I know is the trim tool (scissors icon, not the one in the tool menu). Draw your rectangle and then go around the outside of it clicking on each line or polyline. I've found that if the rectangle is not in front sometimes it will delete the whole line. It would be nice to be able to do them all at once or if the clip tool produced similar results without the problems you mentioned, but this is all I know of.
Hi, I'm using Vectorworks 11.5. I have a site plan with lots of polylines representig hills and rivers, etc. I want to extract a part of the plan, a rectangular part. I draw a rectangle containing what I need. I want to cut that rectangular section and erase everything else, or copy that to a new file.

I tried to find a tutorial for trimming clips with fmod (not trimming the actual clip but when integrated with unity it only plays the untrimmed part of the full clip). The guide said to just slide the bank here, but it doesnt do anything for me. =a-d8fnlsDQc
Would be possible to elaborate on the issue a bit? Are you unable to trim the Instrument in FMOD Studio (FMOD Studio Working with Instruments - Trimming) or are you looking for a different behavior in Unity?
Yes, you should be able to. What version of FMOD Studio are you using? This can be found in the About FMOD Studio:
In 2.02.16 I was able to trip an instrument. You could also upload a video to your profile under the Uploads tab after registering a project with us.
I am tying to align a video and audio track in timeline, I know I can drag the clips and magnify them too to make it easier but I would like to be able to use a keyboard shortcut to nudge the frame itself one frame to the left or right. Sadly everything in the Modify/Trim Clip Edge drop down list is greyed out, also I have not been able to find any shortcuts??
The reason that the nudge commands are grayed out is because they are for nudging the edge of a clip one or more frames at a time while trimming it. They are not for moving the whole clip. If you click on the very edge of a clip and then do a Modify/Trim Clip Edge you will see the nudge trim options available.
However, the above is not what you want. You want to nudge the entire clip. The only way that I know of to nudge (move) an entire clip is to is to select the clip and then hold down the Option key while tapping the left arrow key () key. So, you would need to position your clip slightly to the right and then nudge it left.
So I am working on a drawing that contains a huge quantity of pipe networks. However, I only need to work on an area less than 10% of the whole site. With all of the data shortcutted objects, my drawing is very slow, especially when I need to use the 3dorbit command. I have already minimized the configurations for 3D orbit settings, but it's still lagging sometimes. Is there a way to trim or somehow turn off pipe networks/pressure networks outside of my area of interest? similar to the MAPTRIM OR XREFCLIP command.
I could totally turn off each pipe or structure manually, but don't have the heart to do so. I tried selecting an area of objects, and then through the selection function to only select pipes, for example, hoping that I can change their display styles to "no display". But it wouldn't let me change styles in properties that way.
Quick tools video trimmer lets you remove the ends of your video. To cut a video all you need to do is upload your video file and move the blue handles of the clip to the desired position on the timeline.
For precise control, you can manually enter in and out times of the clip to the decimal precision. In time represents the time stamp where you would like your clip to start. Similarly, out time represents the time stamp where you would like your clip to end. In and out times manipulation would have the same result as moving the handles of the clip.\n
