grep/filter log stream

Is it possible to grep lines in a log stream? I am using regex to highlight specific patterns but when the log stream is very fast/verbose, the information is lost among all irrelevant lines. Has anyone needed to do some sort of filtering and found a solution?

Well I found a solution in a pull request which hasn't been merged into Log.io github project master branch. Here is the link : https://github.com/NarrativeScience/Log.io/pull/36

LarsEric puts a checkbox right near the Regex Search input and if its selected, stream is filtered.
