Dear colleague,
It is with deep regret that we inform you of the passing of Prof. Amitabha Gupta, founding member of ALI and Member of the ALI Council, on 19 September, 2025 at his residence at Powai, Mumbai. Prof. Gupta was a Retired Professor of Mathematical Logic and Philosophy of Science at the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, IIT Bombay. His pioneering efforts in starting ICLA in 2005 and ISLA in 2006 both at IIT Bombay led to the formation of ALI in 2007.
