Hi Cameron,

Well, yesterday I bought the Omnisphere 2 package and I've got it
working and here's what I think you're missing.

1. Make sure you've copied the files into the correct places.

What I did was to go into the databaseFiles folder in the package. In
there there are 2 folders disk_database and image.

first copy the disk_database folder into /users/shared/ni resources folder.

next, go into the image folder from the package. In there, there's an
Omnisphere folder. Copy that omnisphere folder into the image folder
inside the image folder in ni resources above.

next, go into the preset files folder in the package. In there is an
Omnisphere folder. Copy that folder to
your documents/native instruments/user content.

Then run Komplete Kontrol go to preferences and rescan your plugins.
As you know, you'll need a pair of working eyes to do that.

Now, I'm assuming you've done all that correctly, but the installation
instructions did not at least to my mind, make it clear that you've
got to copy those individual sub folders to those locations.

OK, here's the piece I think you'r missing.
2. locate the omnisphere product.

when you're using Komplete Kontrol, all the Native Instruments plugins
are on the same page and the 3rd-party products are on a different
page. So to get access to the library

1. press preset browse
2. press page right- the right-most of the 2 little square buttons
just to the left of the 8 round buttons in the centre of the keyboard.

Then browse omnisphere in the same way as you would the NI products.
I'm very impressed with the level of access we're getting to the
Omnisphere parameters.

Give me a shout if this is still not working for you.

Hi. I already got it working but thanks anyways.

Yes, it is pretty awesome!

Any way to change the master volume in komplete kontrol with a screen
reader by chance? I think it's set too high somehow and everything is
being squashed by a limiter.

Cameron.

Gary and All,

Just as a note, you can cause a rescan of all of your libraries without sighted assistance.

1 Delete the file located at:

Users/‘Your Home Folder’/Library/Application Support/Native Instruments/Komplete Kontrol/Komplete.db3

2 Run the Komplete Kontrol stand-alone app

3 When the app comes up, your libraries will be rescanned. This may take a few minutes to complete.

4 If you are focused on the Komplete Kontrol window with VO, you should hear the ‘Close’ button spoken or possibly a new window being displayed when the scan is complete.

Just as a note, even though it is not technically necessary in this case, you should always backup any files you are planning to delete in processes like these. So please bear this in mind before performing the above procedure. Also, this was given to me directly from Native Instruments themselves. -Just so you know.

Hope this helps!

Cheers!

That may rescan factory content, but it's necessary to have somebody sighted
tick the checkbox in preferences, to rescan user content on startup, so you
only need them to do this one time for you.
You should really never *need* to delete any files, if your configuration is
set up in the manner listed above.
I can add libraries without sighted assistance, to my user database simply
by adding them to the required folder, and opening Komplete Kontrol
stand-alone. Since the checkbox is checked, it will scan and go, 'Oh, new
library? Let me add that for you. Please wait, your call is important to
us.' 20 minutes later because I have so much third-party content, I'm ready
to play!
Check that box and have a much, much easier life.

Happy Easter.

Hi Cameron,

To change the volume on a patch, independently of your DAW, hold down the shift key on the Komplete Kontrol and turn the furthest knob to the right. Forgive me but I cannot remember the actual name of it just this second. :)

It is the one in the right-most cluster of buttons which you can use to select and load patches. It has the detents and can be pressed in.

turning this knob while holding down the shift key will adjust the master volume for your selected patch.

Hope this helps.

Cheers!

Hey Andre,

Actually that does rescan all libs. Both third party etc.

And just for the record, I actually am having an awesome life smarty pants! lol! :) I do have the checkbox checked but I just wanted to share that little tidbit with those who may wish to have that as an option!

So there! *smirk*

Cheers and hugs!

That is odd indeed. I was told by Tim himself, that deleting the database
would only rescan factory content and in some cases I've known it delete
user preferences.
As an example, I have external user content folders and when I had to delete
the database due to corruption once, the checkbox became unchecked to rescan
at startup, and it only scanned factory content when it was launched the
first time.
I had to add my external directories back.
Strange inconsistency. Anyway, if it does work, maybe it's a more recent
change and I'm very glad that you found it to be the case.

Take care.
