Hi, I”am trying to insert a tempo change. I press option shift T to take me into the tempo list. I stop interacting with the presented table and go to create new tempo. It’s automatically set to my position when I re-interact with the table. But when I go to the tempo slider and try to change the tempo, every single time I move the slider, it kicks me out, and I have to go back into the slider to make a further change. So I can change the tempo, but it can take quite a while longer than I’d hope. Is anyone else getting this, or has a work-around or a different way of changing tempos? Time signature changes seem really easy. I just press F10 twice in Logic Magician and change my value, and it asks me if I want to change the time signature for the whole project or at my position. So that works an absolute treat. But tempo seems to be more problematic. Any thoughts?
Thanks.

Oo, I’ll reread the documentation as I missed the bit about inserting a tempo change. The dash and shift dash key is also a neat shortcut, although sadly I don’t think it works with plugin sliders, unless I’m doing something wrong? It would be great to be focused on a plugin parameter and be able to change it with dash and equals, and shift dash and equals. Another weird thing is when you have automation showing on a track, by pressing A, you can see the visible parameter in the track header, and you can change it. There’s also a value element next to it, and if it happens to be a toggle like on and off, you can just turn it on and off without having to go into the actual plugin. However if it’s a slider, you don’t seem to be able to change it from that window, even though there is a value slider next to it. That slider changes value, but doesn’t seem to actually do anything in reality. So it feels like we’re so close to a really accessible and speedy automation workflow, but there’s just something not quite right with how that works. What is that value slider for, as it doesn’t update when it actually changes, and changing it doesn’t do anything?
Thanks.

Oh OK, I’ll give that a go. Not that I want to give Mr Monster more work, as he’s certainly doing plenty, but I wonder if there is any way that we could script something so that there are shortcuts to change the state of the visible automation parameter, and hear the value as we do so? That would be an incredible development. I’m already finding automation pretty nice, now that I’m getting the hang of the visible parameter system, and using command control 5 and 6. But being able to change the slider and hear its value without having to keep going into the plugin would certainly speed things up.
As for contacting Logic support, I’ll happily do that. I don’t know how open they are to discussion, having only just got a Mac and never contacted support, but hopefully a few nudges from us from time to time might be helpful. I wonder if we have any rough stats of how many blind people might be using Logic?
Thanks.
