Hey guys, just had a quick question. Been a while since I’ve been on here, but the question is,
What is half a DI?
That is a track that is in the songwriter portion of logic. I know it has something to do with recording a bass track if I’m thinking right. Could someone give me a brief explanation?
I think there is also a track on that template called continuous strong or something like that. No, sorry, natural strong. Lol sorry about the dictation error. L O L.
What does that mean? The reference to natural Strom? Is that also a guitar track? Any help would be very much appreciated.
The reason I am asking is, I recorded a guitar track on the half fire track, and it sounded right, but I couldn’t put in the effects on it so I realized I was recording on the wrong track. Hope that is not too confusing. Thanks

Hey Michael,

Apologies for the delay in answering this. Hi Fi DI. Is a patch intended for recording a bass guitar thats plugged directly into your audio interface. Natrual strum is intended for an acoustic guitar that is playing a more rhythmic strum part. While these tracks come with effects already on them like an emulation of a bass amp, eq, compression, delay, reverb etc. you can either modify any of the effects that are already there, Add new effects anywhere in the chain or replace, bypass or remove any of the effects already there.
So when you say you weren’t able to add any effects to it that shouldn’t be the case as you should always be able to add effects.
Unless of course what you meant is that you thought you recorded on the Natrual strum track, but you accidentally recorded on the Hi Fi DI track. So you went to the Natrual strum track to add an effect but it didn’t change the sound. Afterwards you realized you had recorded on the wrong track.
Let me know.
Steve
