Deleting all tempo events

Hello friends,

i wanted to delete all tempo events in a project and could not find a way to do this.

In the tempo list, i deleted all events except one event, which i could not delet. It seems, that the list can not be empty.

The problem is, that i wanted to change the overall tempo of the project and when i did this in the tempo control, a message occurs, that i should do tempo changes in the tempo list. But i want to reset the track without tempo events and only onw tempo.

 On Logicv band is a great totorial for inserting tempo events, but there is not covered how to delete all.

Has anybody an idea?

As long as your tempo event is the one at the beginning, that should be fine.

I do:

Shift Option T, to open the tempo events table.

I then select all with CMD+A and then press backspace.

This will leave one event at the beginning of the project, and you should be able to change tempo in the normal way.

If you can’t, I’m not sure why.

Hey:

This is a quick tip that i wrote for myself, wish it can help.

Project follows file tempo and vice versa: Create a blank Logic Project, and in the control bar group inside the control bar, look for the tempo menu and switch it to adapt. Then import the file and logic will analyze it on and offer up the option to open the audio editor to edit the downbeat. Click don’t show and you will have the track in a project with it tempo mapped. If you want to lock it to just one tempo, press Command F to show Flex Time in the tracks header, then interact with the track header and navigate to the Flex Time options and switch it to Polyphonic. Then open the tempo list with Option Shift T, and then press Command A to select all the tempo events and delete them. “you should revise the hole project because sometimes music got destroyed after deleting tempo changes.”. Now the track is locked to just the first tempo. From there, you can return to the control bar group, switch the tempo option back to keep and adjust the tempo slider to a new tempo and the track will change tempo with it. note that if you need to add more audio tracks, you should go to tempo and switch from adapt to Keep project tempo. 

If you’d like to export the track with its new tempo, select the track and press command E to export it. There is a tempo check box in the export dialog, check that if you want to embed the tempo info into the file that you export out of Logic.

Andre, Cmd+A and then Backspace is a  very good tip. I deleted the events individually, which took time.

However,  with one event in the list, the message was  anyway occured, but it's right, i can then change this in the list.

Maybe that i did something wrong. It was my first experience with the tempo list.

Ramy,  your tip is a very good workaround. I will try this.
