Boy I might have really done it this time... help if it is to be had.

Ok y’all, I know you don’t see me that much on the list, I figure there are others like Steve that know more than I do, so I learn from them, and show up when I’m in trouble.

Ok, here’s the situation, the other day, I took the dreaded darn monster fantom 08 keyboard and traded it in, and got the Complete Control MKs 61 keyboard.
I have been looking at these units for a year now, and finally got one. Imagine my surprise when I find I’m running out of space on my main hard drive on my MacBook. It is only 250 GB, and almost full.

Before I try installing stuff again, how do I move my sound libraries from logic to my external drive since logic has updated to 12, and can I run this setup with this MacBook, or did I get myself into an even worse mess.

Please, help, if there is any. I can’t really afford to spend any more money right now.

Hey Ted,

If I am not mistaken, in Logic 11, go to Logic menu > Sound library > relocate sound library and that should walk you through the process. If in Logic 12 press command comma to go into settings, select the sound library tab in general settings and use the locate button to put it where you want. I haven’t tested this myself but thats how it appears it would work from a cursory glance.

thanks Steve for the reply, it is definitely appreciated. Maybe I’ll be OK if I can get those sound libraries moved and I’ll have a bit more room on the main hard drive for the native instruments application again thanks for all of your help you came through again this time as always.

Do you use iCloud Drive? I'm not sure, but I think you can increase iCloud drive storage substantially for under a dollar a month.

I have heard of people keeping their Logic Projects in dropbox or iCloud folders as a form of automatic backups but personally I can see doing that or keeping the logic library in those location causing things to run sluggish as stuff may have to be downloaded in the background when Logic is attempting to use or access them.

Steve, no. I was talking about increasing iCloud drive storage to move non-lp stuffg from the hd to iCloud so as to make room on the hd for more lp stuff.

Yes, I do use iCloud Drive. I keep all of my music tracks up there. And I do use that service. I also have a two GB hard drive that is solid state that I can use to put all of my music libraries on both native access and logic pros libraries as well and I did get the sound libraries moved to the external drive that did make some room as well

Oh, I wouldn’t knock on wood just yet, I have installed complete control just as the instructions sad and still no sound from the keyboard, etc. etc. I don’t know what I’m missing but either I’m missing something or I got a bad keyboard or something and I was so looking forward to an accessible keyboard.
Well, if anybody thinks of something that I’ve missed, let me know.

Once you install everything with native access, you gotta open the Komplete Kontrol stand alone app and leave it to scan all your plug ins. Then you should be able to turn on accessibility mode on the keyboard and start using it in Logic.
