Hi,
I'd like to do this, so I can separate and process various drum parts. I thought I saw a logic.band post or video on this, but can't seem to find it. I think I saw an article where you start with the Logic drummer and separate drum notes onto various tracks based on MIDI notes. I may have dreamed this after eating too much chocolate before bed, though.

Thanks.

Jim

There is no easy way to do this. You can seperate  by note value, but that won’t give you the room and overheads. Probably not a big deal for electronic drums, but is a part of acoustic drum sound when processing. You can have sighted assistance create a multi out of the kit you want to  use and save it as a patch to re-use in the future. The Logic dropbox has some multi out patches for some Addictive drums kit. If one of the kits you own are included in those patches, then you are in luck. You can also reach out to Addictive and see if they will save a kit that’s not there as a patch for you. As  there is no standard to drum multi outs. It will be up to each company making their interface accessible for us to be able to do this.
Not only is this all accessible with the logic acoustic and electronic drums, in addition alot of the work is already done for you as the library has multi out patches for all of them. Better yet it’s easy to customize kit pieces while maintaining the multi out layout and you can even sample augment using one of the samplers and any one shot drum sample. If you are interested in learning how to EQ, Compress and otherwise process  drums, the Logic drums aren’t a bad place to start.

Hi,
Is a multi a way to put a drum kit peace on a separate track? I should have looked it up rather than displaying my lack of knowledge here, but this was convenient. I will look into the Logic drum thing. I'm interested though in the jazz drums that are tuned higher and have brushes. I saw that one of the Logic kits, whose name escapes me, has brushes and one symbol I like, but the drums are tuned very low. Jazz is why I got the Adictive Drums 2 library. I also am unsure if it's possible to use the MIDI packs of patterns from that library. I hope I didn't waste a bunch of money when I could have just spent some time digging into Logic drums more, but if so, that's OK. I'll just go in that direction.

Thanks.

Yes, multiout kits have each drum going to a separate audio track, as they would be when looking at a recorded micced up kit.
As for the logic kit drums being very low, you can tune them in drum kit designer. You can do that with addictive too I believe, assuming you also have the komplete kontrol presets for it. Of course you still won't have the multi out, though. But you can tune with both. I am not sure about your third question, but perhaps someone else here knows.

Hi,
Daniel got an Adictive Drums 2 multi NKS file. I copied it to my Mac, but did not use it. I only copied it because I thought it would be useful some day. I'm unsure what will happen to my current setup if I try to install it. I know enough to be very dangerous.

From what I remember using the MIDI packs  and Loops aren’t accessible with addictive drums. Yes Multi Out,  is how you get each drum on it’s own track along with the rooms and overheads and any percussions on their own tracks as well.  And yes you can tune the Logic Drums . Up or down from where they are and  an their is also a dampen control as well.

Technically multi out puts each kit piece on its own aux track and not an audio track. You can bounce in place however to have them as audio tracks.

It shouldn’t mess with your setup, it should however let you access the addictive kits from your Komplete Kontrol keyboard.
