Take Selection Not Announced with VoiceOver/logic magician in Logic Pro

Hey,
Logic Pro sometimes fails to speak the currently selected take when I use Command + Shift + Up/Down Arrow. It occasionally fixes itself, but it’s pretty annoying. I’m not sure what’s causing it. Full-screening the window, focusing on the region in the track contents area, or toggling take folder visibility with Option + F sometimes helps, but not always.
I’ve attached an audio recording to demonstrate the issue. I also tried using the track alternatives feature instead of takes, but then it’s hard to know which track alternative is selected since there’s no shortcut to have it speak the name. The only way I found is using Command + Shift + Option + Return to open the rename window and check the text field. But that breaks the region or track focus, so I have to either press VO + Space on the track to restore focus or open another window with Command + 1 each time.
I need help with this because it significantly slows down my workflow. Thank you so much! Note, I’m using Logic Pro’s latest version, 12.

also, forgot to add but I’m oretty sure I’m focusing/selecting the region that has multipal takes. So that shouldn’t cause the problem.

I just updated the magician to the latest version and it didn’t get fixed… So

Check that automation mode isn’t visible. The key command A toggles whether it’s visible or not. Also make sure the take folder is closed..

Automation is not visible and the take folder is also closed and I’m still having the issue. Any idea why?

That older version of lm couldn’t work properly on logic 12, at least not for take folders. And yes, it was all fixed, but you now have to keep some things in mind.
Don’t know do you read Logic Pro release notes, but in there you could see a note for take folders, where apple improved it generally speaking.
However, that came at a bit cost. It’s not better or worse just different.
First, if there’s at least one opened take folder on a track, regions are not visible anywhere, so it has to be closed.
Second, if there are more then one take folder, you have to make sure that you select that take folder with left and right arrow keys always before trying to access takes, with one exception though, more about it below.
If you try to use cmd shift up and down arrows without taking care of things above, yes logic internally will change takes, but that change is not reflected anywhere visually, or at least not in a way that can be access with VoiceOver or scripts.
Generally speaking I like this new approach better. For instance, if you have multiple take folders on a track, you don’t have to select each one to open or close it, select a track and hit option F and all take folders will get opened or closed.
Second is exception I mentioned above, first take folder on a track gets automatically selected so you can immediately use cmd shift up and down arrows after selecting a track.
Now, keeping these things in mind, you should try again. Of course, make sure you don’t have multiple tracks with a same name, that will definitely cause some confusion.
Try and report back.

Hello, still not working. The take folders are closed, the correct region is selected. And i can see the take changing in the track contents area, but it keeps tellling me that there’s no take folder selected. Audio demonstration below. Hapy to hop on discord sometime on weekend if we need to talk/discuss. Thank you

Hmm, all seems to be fine and technically It should work, but obviously there’s something causing wrong behavior.
