Thanks. It’s the music you hear in spas, hospitals, complementary care facilities etc. People often don’t know about us until they need us. Then, hopefully they’re comforted and calm, and if they forget about us after they’ve recovered or no longer burned out, that’s all par for the course. The biggest names in my field are totally unknown to your average A&R professionals, TBH. A young me who played a lot of prog would have found it boring, but a midlife mental health situation, a bit of a spiritual awakening as a Druid / Celtic Pagan, and a reinvention of how and what I do musically and professionally has found me where I am. The part that’s fun and mentally stimulating is the fusion of East and West, I’ve studied a great deal including with the late Ravi Shankar back in the early 90s, and all the new modalities that are intended to help balance mind and body. It’s quite a trip, you could never have told a younger me that I’d be doing this now.
And most don’t really know about us until they need us, then they rarely remember who it was.
Thank the Old Gods for the publishers and other entities that help keep things somewhat financially solvent.
If you ever have questions about how this style is made, you can PM me privately. I have yet to meet another blind person who produces this style specifically, not to say there isn’t one. But there are things we run into that aren’t as talked about in mainstream music forums.
Peace,
