Logic Magician acting weirdly

Hi guys. Yes ... I know I am new with this, and I'm still learning Logic and LM. 

But Logic Magician was working fine. 

Then yesterday it started acting strange. It felt like I had to reactivate it a few times per session. 

So I reinstalled it. 

Interestingly enough, it gives me an error when trying to install. 

It says that I must allow Voiceover to be controled with Apple scripts, which I know for a fact is enabled. 

But it wants me to open VO utility. 

So I open it, and double-checking that it is enabled, close the window again. 

Last night, when I wanted to play around with a project, pressing the function keys, I discovered that LM was off again. 

However, pressing control escape did nothing at all. 

I went through my settings, loading the template, checking if the presets had thekeyboard  ninja set, and everything was right. But Logic Magician still didn't want to come on. 

Any suggestions?

Hi, this may be a very basic suggestion, but have you got keyboard Maestro running? Sometimes I’ve forgotten to launch keyboard Maestro before starting LM. Also, have you given Keyboard Maestro permissions? I think that has to be allowed to control Voice Over scripts as well.

First off, If you haven’t yet, Open Keyboard Maestro, then press Command Comma to open its settings then check the launch keyboard maestro engine at start up checkbox. You can then close preferences with Command W and quit keyboard maestro with Command Q. 

Now you don’t need to launch keyboard maestro before launching  Logic Magician, even after restarting your computer.

Secondly, run the installer again, this time uninstall everything and then run it again and install everything.

Yes sometimes you need to uncheck and re-check the allow Voiceover to be controlled check box, that does happen from time to time.

The installer needs permission to access the audio device so it can play the tone to alert you to the progress and when the installation is done. Apple calls the audio device microphone. When something request access to the microphone it means access to the sound card or audio device. 

If things don’t work after these things report back and we’ll go from there.

Hi. For about two days Logic has been working fine. Until today. 

I have  playing around with software synths and stuff specifically for drums. 

For some weird reason, LM doesn't want to come on with the key command. 

And at one stage when adding a second software track, the library just refused to show anything even after checking that the search field is clear. 

Would appreciate it if anyone could give me advice. 

There has been a few cases where Logic closed unexpectantly, and it asked me if I want to report it.

Logic crashing is unfortunate and if it’s repeatably crashing every every time you do the same thing thats probably worth reporting. 

Regarding LM. Can you join the LogicBand discord server? If you set up discord on the Mac when we get on a VoiceChannel you can share your screen and we can hear your voiceOver and hear what’s going on and try to assist in sorting things out. 

You can also try sending me a project you are having difficulty with off  list with a description of the issue and I can see if I am having the same issue and see what the resolution is. However if things are working fine for me where they aren’t for you in a given project, thats where we may want to jump on discord and have a chat.
