Logic Has Brought Back All Legacy Instruments

Hey all,

So Logic has brought back their full legacy set, just go into sound library and VoiceOver will tell you what needs updating and installing. I noticed some of the original complement of legacy synths and orchestral as well as world instruments were back. This matters to me because there are flutes in the sampler tha used the mod wheel to change the sample, e.g. adding specific ornaments you can’t do with just trills, quavers and bends on the keys, especially with the Eastern flutes like Bansuri or the Shakuhachi.

I love their new stuff, I really do. But it’s nice to see the old stuff come back. So if you care go get the sound packs, they’ve been re-added back in. Even the Blue Carpet pad a producer was complaining about being gone on Youtube, it’s back. That’s a nice one, mostly because it at least lets you live control the filter with the modwheel, but his complaint just proves everyone has their favorites. Saves time also if you go back into one of your projects you haven’t touched in years, and instruments aren’t missing.

I did see a new logic update yesterday. Do you have to download that update before going into the library to see what needs updating?  Thanks for turning me on.

I forgot to mention that, but TOM mentions it on his Youtube channel where he goes over this stuff. I don't know the answer to that, but you could go into the sound library and see what's available. I think the update gives a splash screen showcasing it. I don't know fully though.

Given that its listed as a feature of Logic Pro 12.2 it I am guessing the update is required but I haven’t check 12.0.1 either.
