How to get audio files into the Quick Sampler

I’ve been trying every way I can think of to get an audio file into the Quick Sampler. Nothing seems to work so far. I tried simply pasting a file. I tried using the Project Browser but although I imported the audio I still can’t transfer it. There are copy and paste buttons in the Quick Sampler but they don’t seem to do anything. Am I missing something or is it just not accessible with Voice Over?

I believe if you drag the region into the tracks header area it will automatically open it with the quick sampler. I think Steve was the one that told me about this. Anyway, aside from using VOCR, loading samples directly into the quick sampler I don’t think it is accessible right now.

Yeah I usually drag it into the track headers from the track contents area. However you can VOCR the Quick Sampler interface to find the Load button or apparently Liam has some Keyboard Maestro Macros for it as well.

Hi Jim, 

Here are the macros I made for the quick sampler .

toggle the macros on with control, command, option, shift Q. Use the same command to turn them off when you’re finished. 

Control + L = load sample 

Thre’s also a couple commands for changing the mode from classic to one shot or slice and a shortcut for opening the pitch bend range drop down to increase it from two semitones to up to an octave.

Hi everyone,

Are there any easy to understand tutorials, as spoken word or text, which explain in simple steps to get the Quick sampler up and running?
I have tried dragging and dropping onto the trackheader with the drag and rop function of Voice Over, but Logic crashes every time. This should work I read, there should be created a Quick sampler insert automatically. Pasted audio files to it as well without any luck.
The Logic manual says to drop samples onto certain areas of the Quick sampler, of which I have no clue where those are either. Also used the Keyboard Maestro macro, which is found in the Logic Access Dropbox folder, but the commands don’t do anything. Here too, I really do not know exactly where to perform these commands.
As you have probably figured out already, I am an pretty big dummy concerning in general and specific with Logic.

I am working on a tutorial for this. Here are a few things that may help get you started. First is to use VoiceOver’s mouse up and mouse down command (VO Shift Command Space) to drag and drop instead of the Drag and drop commands (VO comma and VO period).
Secondly the Macros work from the quick sampler interface. So you will need to instantiate the quick sampler onto a track and have it open before the macros will work.

Auto sampler allows you to automatically sample hardware synthesizers and make a software synth out of them using either sampler or quick sampler (not sure which). Quick Sampler allows you to bring in a single sample and play it up and down the keyboard at different pitches.
