We will hold ArithMod, a mini-meeting to explore connections between Model Theory and Arithmetic Geometry next Thursday, 11 June, between 2:00 and 5:00 pm.
The venue will be unusual: we will meet at La Otra Casa,
a space that hosts the new bookstore that brother and sister Fernando,
Patricia Zalamea, have recently opened in Chapinero. La Otra Casa works
as a meeting place for many topics, and we decided this time to explore
these connections between our two parts of mathematics.
There will be 35-minute lectures by John Baldwin (UIC), Alexander Cruz (UNAL), Daniel Vargas (UNAL) and Andrés Villaveces (UNAL).
Plan:
14:00-14:35 - Andrés Villaveces (UNAL) - Model theory for analytic functions: two different perspectives
14:40-15:15 - John Baldwin (UIC) - Categoricity of universal covers of Fuchsian groups: the non-arithmetic case
15:15-15:45 - Break
15:45-16:20 - Daniel Vargas (UNAL) - Around the Bombieri–Dwork Conjecture
16-25-17:00 - Alexander Cruz (UNAL) - Mirror Maps and Categoricity
