Update 17 October 2015
Logan Co citizens with unwanted furniture, appliances and junk can use the District 2 roll off dumpster instead of dumping in the creek or on the side of the road. It is free to all Logan County residents (non commercial). This service is proving effective at reducing dumping in the district. We are located at 1550 N Midwest which is one mile north of the new Loves Truckstop being constructed at the I-35/Hwy 33 intersection. Our hours are 7:30-4 M-F.
The paving contractor plans to pave Waterloo Road from Midwest to Douglas Monday, November 2nd. For Logan County citizens, the best alternate route is on Simmons, one mile to the north of this project. The total cost of the roadway repairs is $379,200 with Logan County D2 paying 25% and Oklahoma Co D3 paying 75% of this cooperative project. Milling off 3 to 4 inches of the current surface will begin the week of the 26th. Atlas Paving will begin with 4" of coarse asphalt for strength and then complete with 2" of fine asphalt for a smooth finish.
Rollercoaster is making rapid progress in clearing the easement from Pine to Midwest. Tinhorns are being ordered and will be placed across the road after the clearing of the easement. On October 21st most of the electric poles on the north side of Rollercoaster Rd will be moved to the south side of the road by OG&E crews. We will continue to close the road to through traffic from 8-3 on weekdays while easement is being cleared and reformed in order to make as much progress as possible before winter hits. We plan to lay asphalt next summer.
Midwest Blvd next to the new Loves is close to completion. Starting with high tech Geoplastic matting, this was covered with 10" of crushed Hwy 33 concrete watered, layered and compacted into a low grade of cement. Then 8" of coarse asphalt was laid and now awaits for the finishing layer of 2" of fine asphalt for a smooth surface. The double sized sewer line under I-35 is complete and the Valero on the south side of Hwy 33 has started their connecting line in easement being obtained by the City of Guthrie. This meets, when completed, all the requirements in the Tax Increment Financing District formed by the BoCC. Opening is planned for December 7th.
Anderson Rd one mile paving project from Waterloo north is completed with some finishing touches still to be done. The Westminster Rd paving project should restart November or December.
Two road gravel projects will begin this Monday:
3 miles of Westminster from Simmons to Forrest Hill then
3 miles of Indian Meridian Rd from Forrest Hill to just south of the town of Meridian.
