I've never tried Plaso on Windows, so the pros/cons of the below are
unknown to me.

In general I don't use many opensource tools in Windows because I
don't like the Windows package management (which to my knowledge
doesn't exist).

Windows 10 will soon have a Ubuntu subsystem focused on the CLI.
When working with Plaso, I'm pretty much focused on CLI, so it just
might be a great way to get Plaso functionality on Windows, while
maintaining Linux's package management.
