Dear Log Moocs,

We’re only as strong as our communities. By supporting change at the local level, we grow stronger bonds with our neighbors, officials, and the environment. When we invest in each other, build infrastructure that benefits everyone, and design systems for the future, we create a world where everyone thrives, not just survives.

------------------------------------------

It Starts with Policy

From improving access to social welfare and elevating educational standards to protecting the environment, policy plays a critical role in positive community-building. Using Public Policy for Social Change offers a beginner-friendly look at the policy-making cycle, offering the opportunity to develop advocacy skills that help you get the issues you care about in front of stakeholders and policymakers who can make a difference.

Influence positive change through policy.

------------------------------------------

It Starts with Real Estate

Property ownership shapes a community’s economy and culture. When community members have little say in the development of their area, their needs may go overlooked, and much of their uniqueness can be lost. Real Estate Development: Building Value in Your Community explores how to invest in your community and create a lasting positive impact. Throughout the course, you’ll learn the fundamentals of real estate development, including development stages, team building, project feasibility, social impact, and financial modeling.

Promote community-focused development.

------------------------------------------

It Starts with Community Health

For those interested in pursuing healthcare or public health, Assessing and Improving Community Health can help ensure their community's needs are met. This course provides you with the building blocks to support your community and improve its health through assessments, key population indicators, and data analysis. From here, you’ll be able to evaluate evidence-based interventions, providing solutions that make a difference and provide stability for at-risk populations.

Develop healthier communities.

------------------------------------------

It Starts with the Environment

As our world continues to change, understanding how each of us is impacted by, and is impacting, the environment can help us build new pathways to sustainable futures. Sustainability Leadership Development explores how power structures, social justice, and equity shape organizations, and how leaders can leverage ethics and values to set and achieve goals. Learn to lead in your community in ways that improve both the environment and those who inhabit it.

Lead sustainable organizations.
