However, we can't guarantee we'll be able to register, provide key codes, or offer data and password recovery for older versions of QuickBooks for older and non-supported products. Also, we recommended purchasing a supported version since this serves as a new product of yours. This ensures you have the latest features and services.

They are not Amazon. It seems they only offer a boxed version and that should be the rest of their stock. If you're not in the US, I don't recommend buying it. Unless you don't mind if you can't use it nor return the item.

I have a 2014 version. I have never been online with it. I think I have got it all messed up at this point how do I get the new version online and be able to put all my old version on there. I need help with it badly
Since your version of QuickBooks Desktop 2014 is outdated, you may need to use an upgraded version of the software. You'll want to download a free trial version and use it in transferring your files to QBO.
You may purchase a one time license of QBD 2021 Pro/Premier to upgrade your file. You may also consider purchasing an older supported version (i.e QBD 2019-2020) with a lower fee thru a partner/reseller. You should utilize the trial license of it to make sure prior to purchasing the commercial one. Contact us in private and we can share it.
For now, you can only download the oldest version QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) which is 2010. I'd recommend purchasing the latest version of the program to keep your business running using the software.
Please also take note that QBDT has a three-year life cycle. Once you're ready to purchase our latest version, you can directly go to this website:
QBDT 2010 is the oldest version available for downloads. However, if you're talking about the Windows PC system requirements, this version requires a Windows 8, 7, Vista, or XP system with a Pentium 4 or higher processor running at 2.0 GHz or above.
You can start your download by going to this link: Downloads & Updates. After you've finished downloading, you can install QuickBooks by following the steps in this article: Install QuickBooks Desktop.
If you are running Win 7, you can still purchase a one time license for QBD 2018. If you are running Win 8 or 10, you can purchase a one time license for QBD 2020 or 2021. Which one do you prefer to pick?
Older versions of the program are still available for download online through our website. As long as you have the necessary information for registration and licensing, it's still possible to go back in time.
Our customer support still provides assistance for users who have previously purchased old versions. Unfortunately, we can't guarantee we'll be able to register, provide key codes, or offer data and password recovery.
Since older versions are discontinued, access to add-on services and online features are unavailable. That means you can use the program offline and will not be force march approach for the new products.

Greedy companies are getting old. I use QBO for business, but would like to be able to use my QBD2019 for personal. Basic accounting. Why would QB discontinue downloading bank transactions? This is a basic function that requires no continued support. I paid for this software. ALL features should work until I CHOOSE to pay for the upgraded version. QB is forcing me to buy their "upgraded" software every 3 years. I used 2008 until 2019 no problem. Maybe if the "upgrade" was truly an upgrade, but minimal features are added and most aren't necessary to everyone. Discontinue support; fine. But discontinuing my ability to use all features? That's a load of BS. I want a work around so I can download my personal banking like always.
In addition to our regular practice we do a lot of forensic and tax resolution work that requires access to our old versions of Lacerte. We had an older computer that was our go-to for this but it gave up the ghost and we are attempting to reinstall 2000 through 2003 and having no success whatsoever. Hitting errors such as the drive not mapped... when it is mapped.. and the prep file not found... when it is indeed in the directory via a fresh download... etc.
Yes, you can uninstall your previous years TurboTax software. If you have purchase your software directly from TurboTax, then you would still be able to download your software for up to three years past the year of the software, by signing into MyTurboTax.com.
Save all *.tax20YY files and it would be a good idea to make pdf copies of your past returns just in case you need them to amend or IRS inquiry or audit. Many people at least 3 years saved for that purpose.
Wow!! Seriously? What? You guys don't do any regression testing? I don't think I've ever used a professional software app that couldn't open the files made from previous versions of the app. Are you developers drunk?
Totally agree with GoYanks comment. I mean honestly, do I have to worry that Microsoft wants me to upgrade to windows 11 and if I do older versions of TurboTax might not work or new versions can't read my old filings. That is ridiculous. This is serious stuff and TurboTax seems to take it lightly or not their problem even though it's their product that fails to live up to real world tax needs.
I just tried opening older versions of my tax returns in turbotax and it didn't work. This is very unhelpful. Now I have to go to the library and see if I can open my cd where my taxes are saved and print out from there.
I don't use Windows. I use Mac. That said, I connected a drive to my computer and was able to access the pdf file. I tried opening several previous versions, however I couldn't open anything beyond 2017.
No, you do not have to keep previous years of TurboTax installed on your computer. As long as you have your CD it can be reinstalled. Or, if you purchased it from TurboTax and downloaded it to your computer, it can be downloaded again.
To file my 2022 taxes involving rental properties with depreciation, do I need the Turbo Tax programs for all prior years installed on my new computer or just the 2021 program and the new 2022 program? I do have PDF files but I can't locate my 2020 CD. Still have access to my old computer but only for a short time as I'm retiring soon and was using my work computer to file my taxes all these years.
Make sure that you have a copy of all tax returns you have filed using your work computer. If at a later date, you have to a previous year software, prior to what you have, you should be able to find or access what you might need from Turbo Tax.. but you must have copies of all tax returned filed, just not previous software other than what you have.
Cannot believe how many so-called "Experts" are completely missing the point on this. The user wants to know if they can open any tax year file with a different year version of the software (open 2020 TT return file with TT 2018 software).
The short answer is No. You cannot. The TT developers haven't figured out how the simple feature of "backwards compatibility" works. You're just going to have to store the software and keys for every single effing version of TT you own. Sorry.
Just updated to latest operating system for my iMac (Sonoma 14.0) and Quickbooks desktop (latest version was 2019 before they forced everyone into their overpriced online version) doesn't work. Is it incompatible with the new iMac OS ?
It is absolutely not compatible. I found this out the hard way and had to restore my Mac back to Ventura a few weeks ago. This was preferable to paying Intuit's subscription fees when previously, a desktop license bought worked for years. It's a dirty business model, in my opinion. I'm thoroughly frustrated with so many companies going to subscription-only services so they can steadily bleed their customers for more money. Anyone abort using Quicken for something else? If so, what did you switch to?
