Hello colleagues, this is my first time to be here. I am running GWAS in the horse (Equus caballus), and would appreciate it if could someone tell me whether the Locuszoom web could be used in horse studies? Is there any pipeline for other species?
Thanks
Mehdi

Thanks for your question!

At present, our web tools only handle human datasets, and regrettably I don't think we have the personnel to add (and maintain) datasets for other species in the near future.

It is possible to use the underlying JavaScript library (locuszoom.js) to render scatter plots, if you are comfortable writing custom javascript code. The main thing that is missing is "standard" datasets (like genes, LD, and recombination rate) in formats that can be queried and used with the scatter plot.

For some species, I've also heard of research groups that have modified the older command line tool (locuszoom-standalone) to work as well. This tends to be a bit easier to fork, because when a web site is involved there are more questions about private data, vs a set of static files on a private hard drive.

However, I don't know of any specific versions of any LZ tool that are aimed at horses. It's an interesting use case and we're happy to offer basic guidance on getting started, even if we likely wouldn't have the time to do it all ourselves.
