Hi everyone,

Perth Children's Hospital is looking for experienced people to join our team in Senior Speech Pathologist roles. As a Senior Speech Pathologist you would play a critical role in providing advanced level paediatric speech pathology management and clinical services. You would also serve as a clinical supervisor, consultant and educator to staff member and students.

We are looking for Senior Speech Pathologists across three areas of practice. Within the application system, you will be asked to select your preferred service you wish to apply for. You can select:

  • Speech Sound Disorders -  join me in the Cleft Lip and Palate and Craniofacial team providing education, assessment, management and monitoring of patients with VPI. We are based in an outpatient setting and we are looking for an experienced Speech Pathologist who has recent knowledge and skills in paediatric articulation and language. Any previous experience with VPD is highly desirable.
  • Complex Neurological – the team provide mealtime and communication assessment and intervention for patients with acquired, genetic and degenerative conditions. They work across inpatient and outpatient developmental and rehab services. There’s also potential to incorporate a community based model of care for rehab.
  • Paediatric Feeding Disorder – the team provide assessment and management of feeding and swallowing within a broader feeding team and complex airway team. They work across inpatient and outpatient services.

The application process has been updated for this pool too! We are asking you to provide a CV and statement of up to 3 pages answering the following criteria:

  • In this role, you will be required to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, manage client caseloads effectively, and act as a consultant and educator in paediatric speech pathology. Can you provide an example of a situation where you demonstrated strong interpersonal skills while working with a multidisciplinary team to manage a client's case? How did you ensure effective collaboration, efficient caseload management, and effectively educate and consult with the team, including health professionals, students, and other stakeholders in the process?
  • Provide specific examples of how you have demonstrated your commitment to professional development throughout your career? Additionally, please provide examples of how you have effectively provided professional supervision and support to speech pathology staff in their growth and development. Provide what steps you take to ensure reliability and punctuality in your day-to-day practice.
