EOI – ADULT Speech Pathology Clinical Educators Needed!


Hi everyone,

Curtin University is looking for suitably experienced clinical educators to join our well-established and supportive Adult CE team of 9 excellent clinicians!

We are seeking speech pathologists with a minimum of 3 years experience to supervise first clinical year students (3rd year BaSP or 2nd Year MaSP) during their early Adult Clinic Placement, located on the Curtin Bentley campus.

This is a sessional (casual) position, paid at a competitive hourly rate + superannuation.

We are seeking clinicians for 2 positions - 1x on a Wednesday for Block 2 only (9 weeks) and 1x on a Thursday for Blocks 2-3 (18 weeks).

Block 2 commences the w/b 20th April, with additional ad-hoc time for onboarding/induction the week prior.

The role includes:

  • 7.5 hours of direct onsite supervision on either a Wednesday or Thursday
  • PLUS an additional 4-6 hours/week (flexible, WFH) for administration, feedback to students and completion of clinical evaluations (COMPASS). Hours dependent on number of students in placement group.

Essential experience:

  • Have experience working with adult clients with acquired speech, language and/or swallowing difficulties in acute, sub-acute, aged-care and/or community settings

Desirable experience:

  • Have experience supervising students or new graduates in a clinical role, however we are happy to provide upskilling and mentoring if you are new to this space
  • Demonstrate an interest in student learning and wellbeing and willingness to coach clinical skills and clinical reasoning through modelling and informal tutorials
