About the role:
We’re seeking a motivated, fun and friendly speech pathologist to join our team of 5 experienced and supportive therapists. Our 12-year established practice, in the desirable location of Nedlands, means our clients and their families are highly motivated, enhancing both the success of our clients and you as a therapist.
We have a role available starting from week of 20th April (beginning of Term 2), or potentially sooner depending on therapist preferences. This role would involve completing screenings of Kindergarten and Pre-Primary children at Nedlands Primary School, Rosalie Primary School and Cottesloe Primary School, in addition to taking on new clients from our other referral sources. Children identified as needing intervention from the screenings will then be offered school based or clinic based therapy sessions. We are hoping to find someone to take on these clients in our school based programs, as well as potentially see clients from other sources depending on the number of days per week the applicant would like to work. There is also the possibility of building to an increased caseload or adding more work days over time.
How is this role different?
Our desirable catchment area, the nature of our school-based clients, our employment structure and high income opportunities offer numerous benefits that are unique to our practice, including:
- Choose your workload: This role offers ultimate flexibility and autonomy. You choose how many clients you want to see, what hours and days you want to work.
- Choose your clients: As well as choosing the amount of clients you want to see, you can tailor your caseload to certain age ranges or caseload types, or to have a broad range of experiences.
- Flexibility: As our therapists do not have expected KPIs or a minimum number of daily billable hours, you have total choice on how to structure your caseload and workdays.
- Freedom: Preparation, reports and other admin can be completed from home, and you can take time off whenever you want.
- Long-term relationships: The nature of our school-based clients means you can experience a genuinely rewarding and long-term relationship with a child and their family, from assessment through to discharge.
- Client success: Working continuously with a child (rather than consultatively or in therapy blocks) also allows you to truly implement and achieve short and long-term goals, ensuring effectiveness and enhancing long-term success.
- Motivated families: Our catchment area (including the Western Suburbs and south of the river) comprises motivated families who do the home practice required which greatly supports your client sessions.
- Clients ready to see you: We have a high volume of existing clients, ensuring there are plenty of clients to fill your caseload.
- Specialise your skills: You have the opportunity to build specialty skills in certain age ranges or caseload types (e.g. literacy, Autistic Spectrum Disorder, early language), carving a niche for yourself that differentiates you in the industry.
- Job satisfaction: work with motivated families who do the home practice and commit to therapy as long as their child needs it – see the gains in the children you work with over time as a result. Work at your own pace as you choose, minimising overwhelm and maximising job satisfaction.
- Family-friendly lifestyle: The flexibility of this role offers a highly attractive work-life balance. You can attend school assemblies, have early or late starts or finishes, and work from home around your clients.
- High income opportunities: Our competitive pay structure provides the opportunity for higher earnings and lower tax rates.
How is our practice different?
- Female-led: As a female-owned practice including a team of several part-time mums, we are passionate about making sure our therapists feel supported, as well as providing flexibility and quality of work life.
- Positive working environment: Culture fit is very important – our close-knit team is friendly, fun and motivated. We have regular social lunches and genuinely enjoy working together!
- Empowerment: We provide business management advice and ongoing strategic support that empowers our therapists and sets them up for long-term business success.
- Learn new skills & progress your career: We also provide basic accounting and business advice that enables our therapists to learn the business skills required to take their career to new heights.
- Collaborative: We enjoy working collaboratively, making decisions as a team where possible.
- Excellence: We’re committed to excellence in not just our services to our clients, but also in our staffing choices and the clinical support we provide to new therapists.
- Brand new office: We moved into our new clinic in Nedlands only late last year, it is spacious with lots of natural light, views to leafy trees, has a custom fit out designed by our director herself and is well-resourced. There is also free, safe, undercover onsite parking.
- Mentoring & support: New staff receive mentoring and supervision from our team of highly qualified and experienced therapists.
