The street will be closed to allow room for wine pouring stations, food (including from Local Butcher Shop) and retail vendors, live music, and other fun for all ages to enjoy. The event is free, with wine, beer and food available for purchase. Two bands — Out of Town Couple (12pm-2pm) and Peter Martin (3pm-5pm) — will provide the perfect atmosphere to enjoy a beautiful day in Berkeley. All are welcome!

This event is produced by the North Shattuck Association. EXPLORE NORTH SHATTUCK

The tempura donburi (ten don) includes two pieces of shrimp, along with green beans, shiitake mushrooms, sweet potatoes, carrots, and green peppers. It's served with rice and Japanese pickles. To reheat the dish at home: remove the assorted tempura, sprinkle them lightly with water, and bake them in the oven for a couple of minutes. Be careful not to burn. Remove the garnish from the rice bowl and heat up the rice in the microwave.

WHAT'S COOKING AT THE FARMER'S MARKET?

"Organic" can be a confusing term; it's a great way for many farmers to advertise their growing practices but just because someone doesn't have a certification doesn't mean that they don't have great growing practices. If you're curious about how something is grown just ask the person selling it, that's one of the perks of shopping at a farmers' market after all!
