Advisory: Traffic Advisory: 2024 Law Enforcement Torch Run begins at 1 pm

Dear Diane Tokugawa,

Just a reminder,

Today, the 2024 Law Enforcement Torch Run will be happening in Berkeley around 1 pm.

The event will raise funds and awareness for Special Olympics Northern California (SONC). Today, runners from Berkeley PD and UC Berkeley PD will carry the Flame of Hope through the City from Albany border to Emeryville border.

Persons driving through the area should expect some temporary road closures and should consider alternative routes.

About the Route

This year, the Berkeley PD Team will carry the Flame of Hope through Berkeley on the following route:

  • Eastbound Solano Avenue from Peralta Avenue

  • Southbound The Alameda from Solano Avenue

  • Eastbound Center Street from MLK Jr Way

  • Southbound to the UC Berkeley Sign between Center Street and Allston Way where the Flame of Hope will be turned over to the UC Berkeley Police Department

The UC Berkeley Police Department Teamwill then run the following route to the City of Emeryville:

  • Westbound Allston Way to Shattuck Avenue

  • Southbound Shattuck Avenue to Carleton Street

  • Westbound Carleton Street to Seventh Street

  • Southbound Seventh Street to Folger Avenue

More information may be found by visiting www.SONC.org and on Facebook/Twitter/TikTok
