| When: Saturday June 6, 2026 9:00 AM – 11:00 AM Where: 2301 Vine St., BerkeleyLeader: Gene Meyers Distance: 3 miles Elevation Gain: About 300 feet. Accessibility: Moderately paced. Sidewalks, several paths, some steep uphill roads. Not accessible for wheelchairs. Well-behaved dogs on leashes are welcome. Restrooms are unavailable. We will meet in front of the Dominican School and head to Scenic and Vine for this walk visiting several North of Campus paths. We begin on the steepest part of the walk, crossing Euclid and going to the top of Rose Street. The rest of the walk is more moderate with several up and down paths. No dogs on this walk. This will be a nice time to see the Berkeley Rose Garden when the roses are in bloom, and then go to Temescal Lane to see the poetry wall and head back via Codornices Park. Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome. For this month's installment of the sunset Friday hikes, we are headed to beautiful Piedmont. We'll check out Piedmont Park and Dracena Park and walk by redwoods, creeks, and mansions with magnificent gardens and views. Read more |

| When: Saturday, June 27, 2026 9:30 AM-12:00 PM Where : 580 Grizzly Peak Boulevard Berkeley, CA Leader : Bob Johnson Distance: 3 miles Elevation: 450 ft Accessibility: Walk is not accessible for wheelchairs. Well-behaved dogs on leash are welcome. Parking is generally available along Grizzly Peak. The 65 bus, which stops nearby, does not run on weekends. A restroom will be available before and after the walk. This moderate walk is in Berkeley Woods which straddles the ridge at the top of the north Berkeley hills. We will have occasional views both east and west. There is some attractive architecture, varied street trees and some nice gardens as well as some fascinating bits of history we will touch on. | Join us for a path maintenance work party!Friday, June 12, 10 a.m. to 12:00 pm Do you enjoy working with your hands and seeing tangible results of your efforts? Join us to clean up Berkeley’s paths, work that’s mostly weeding, sweeping, raking, and clipping. We will have gloves and tools available, but feel free to bring your own. Please also bring your own water, as we won't be offering water or refreshments.
