Hello Diane, Since sending out the April Newsletter last week, a few things have come up that I wanted to share with you. Below I have some updated information on ways to get involved with the Corridors Zoning Update, as well as an opportunity to provide feedback about the Hopkins St paving plan and the future of surveillance systems in Berkeley. CZU Listening As promised, I’m reaching out to share a link to a joint Community Listening Session we are hosting with Councilmember Igor Tregub and the District 4 Office. The event is planned for April 16th from 6:00-7:30pm and will mostly focus on North Shattuck.  Click here to register or scan the QR code below.  I also wanted to correct the record regarding the Corridors Zoning Workshop scheduled for May 1. This workshop has already happened – in 2025. We apologize for this mistake, and any confusion and inconvenience this has caused. We will be sure to keep you posted on future workshops and opportunities to provide feedback.  Hopkins and Flock Surveys Two of the biggest issues coming before Council in the next couple months are the question of repaving Hopkins, as well as the renewal and expansion of our City’s contract with Flock Safety. As there are many varied opinions on both subjects, my office has put together a short survey to help us better understand the positions of District 5 and Berkeley residents.  Earlier this year, Councilmember Rashi Kesarwani and I proposed a new plan for Hopkins Street: paving the street with pedestrian safety improvements.
