Thank you for registering for the February 19, 2026, Zone Zero Landscape Design Webinar. We were thrilled to see such strong interest, with more than 200 residents registering and over 100 joining us live.

For those who attended, you experienced the inspiring work of Professor Kristina Hill and her students, who shared creative, forward-thinking designs. Their thoughtful approaches demonstrated new ways to use outdoor space and challenged us to reimagine how we’ve traditionally designed and managed our properties.

This email includes links to the webinar recording, Professor Hill’s presentation slides, and Berkeley Fire Department (BFD) resources—such as how to schedule a Defensible Space Inspection and apply for CAL FIRE funding for vegetation mitigation.

We will share additional materials—such as recommended plant lists and aggregate options—in a follow-up message soon.

You’ll also find contact information below for Assistant Fire Chief Colin Arnold and Councilmember Brent Blackaby should you have any questions or would like to follow up directly.
