In honor of National Endangered Species Day, the Garden is pleased to host members of the Siskiyou Crest Coalition to take us on a photographic journey of the extraordinary plant diversity of this Northern California region. Along the ridges, slopes and canyons of the Siskiyou Crest, from Mt. Ashland to the Smith River, are 31 officially designated Botanical Areas that are recognized for their concentrations of rare species, exceptionally rich and diverse floras, or plant communities rarely found in an undisturbed condition. Come discover this incredible ecoregion that contains 65% of California’s native plant species. |
