This is an AC Alert message from the City of Berkeley.

Residents should be aware that during the week of June 23^rd the Berkeley Fire Department will be conducting wildfire response exercises in the Grizzly Peak/Tilden Park area. There will be an increased presence of fire apparatus in these areas on June 24, 26, and 28 from 8:30 am to 3:00 pm each day. This may look like a real incident, but it is a planned exercise, and there is no cause for concern.

 

These exercises are in coordination with Albany, Moraga Orinda, Richmond, and Contra Costa County Fire Departments. During these exercises, multiple fire engines and firefighters will operate throughout the area, practicing area familiarization, structure defense, and water zone reviews. The community and media are encouraged to note these activities as part of our ongoing efforts to enhance wildfire preparedness and response capabilities.
