We have had 5-6 people joining the LOCCNA list who seem to be promoting this person doing duct work.  Normally, no one posts ads like this more than once.   We see it.  We got it.   You can stop.    If people were interested, they would have responded already.   It makes me to NOT want to use Brian.

Here's my reply about ductwork cleaning, as LOCCNA google group "owner":

I checked the LOCCNA google group history at https://groups.google.com/g/loccna/ about duct work and found 3 messages, all very similar, promoting/advertising duct cleaning service:

Aug 1 from Liza Kennedy (joined the group July 28)

Aug 13 from Jannet Matteson (joined the group Aug 6)

Aug 26 from Andrew Watson (joined the group July 28)

After the Matteson post, I became suspicious that our group is being invaded by scammers because there had been an unusual number people requesting to join our group. I implemented a policy at least temporarily to require moderation of postings by any new members, the moderator being me. Four other people have joined the LOCCNA group since July 28, and I set their posting status to "moderated" for the time being.

Andrew's message from today got through because although he joined the same day as Liza, I had not yet imposed the moderation requirement for new members. I have now changed his posting status to "moderated" rather than automatically "allowed", so it's possible we won't hear from him again about duct cleaning. 

I'm a little sad about having to impose moderation for new members because we have gone for so many years with an unmoderated group with few or no problems. I'm also reluctant to impose any restriction on "advertising" because recommending a company or service can be valuable function for the group, especially in response to a member's query for help and recommendations.
