Dear Shenandoah Valley Food and Farm Network colleagues,

 

Hope you are doing well. We would like to remind you of tomorrow’s meeting of the Shenandoah Valley Food and Farm Network at 9:30 a.m. at the Virginia Cooperative Extension-District Extension Office in Harrisonburg. We are pleased 13 people will be able to volunteer with DC Central Kitchen on January 25.

 

We realize it is a very busy time of year and we hope you can attend.

Introductions

 

Trip to DC Central Kitchen scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 25. Leave from District Extension Office in Harrisonburg at 5:00 a.m., pick up in Woodstock at 5:45a.m., and Front Royal at 6:15 a.m.

 

Need to reschedule visit from Mark Lilly (Farm to Family), proposed visit for March meeting on Friday, March 9.

 

Update from Buy Fresh Buy Local - Francie

 

Proposed dates for trip to Western NC-  March 7 and 8

  • Leave for Pilot Mountain Pride from Harrisonburg
  • Arrive at Pilot Mountain Pride around 1:00 PM, tour facility (and perhaps another nearby farm), then travel to Asheville for dinner and overnight.
  • Tour Appalachian Sustainable Agriculture Project in Western North Carolina morning of Day 2, travel back to Harrisonburg.
  • Participants would be responsible for lodging, meals, and partial transportation costs.

 

Proposed dates for visit from Scott Sheely of Lancaster County Workforce Investment Board and Lancaster Prospers March 13 -15 or 27 -29

 

Proposed dates to visit to milk processing unit at James River Correctional Facility in Goochland, Virginia or Snowville Creamery 2/20-2/21
