Google Static Image

Is it possible someone how to retrieve a users coordinates? With this
is it possible to show a user on a static map via google maps. This
could then be easily displayed on a mobile phone. I could create a URL
and save it in bookmarks. Like the widget only a static version of it
without the javascript and flash.

This is indeed ture. This is on the roadmap for the upcoming versions.
At the current state of affairs there is no other way of seeing where
the user is other than the website.
