GPS "When Needed" ??

Can someone please explain what this exactly means? I remember older
version had "when outdoors" which didn't work too well. Is it possible
to make the application check if it's in a know cellid area. If it is
just rely on that information without activating the GPS and reducing
battery life. If it's in a new area then try to get a GPS fix. I just
notice with the GPS enabled the battery life is really poor.

Hi,

The "When needed" functionality is there to reduce on the GPS
consumption of the application.
Choosing this mode will make Locatik only use GPS when it can't figure
out where it is from the CellID information.

We've implemented some algorithms for that purpose and found that the
battery last for much longer when in this mode.
