The Heikinpäivä Midwinter Festival is here, and it's time to bring the family out to the Finnish American Heritage Center in Hancock, MI. Music, marketplace, parade, food, games, and finally the Heikinpäivä Iltamat Dance on Saturday evening, January 27, 7-10 PM, in the FAHC. Dance music by the Back Room Boys Jazz (& Polka) Band, featuring Professor Pasi Lautala on Finnish vocals and accordion. Honored guest musician this time will be Don Reinholm, possibly the most powerful accordionist in Finnish America (he may be the tallest, too!). $15 admission includes the hors d'oeuvres buffet.
