Hi All,

I'm a fairly new member to Local Lefties as of this past Sept., where
you may have seen me phone banking or doing data entry at the Obama SF
HQ or maybe we met briefly at one of the many Obama pre-election
fundraisers.

Now that we've got change in the White House, I've shifted my focus to
The Golden State and have begun working closely with the Newsom for
California Committee Governor 2010.

If you've not been following the 2010 California Governor's race, it's
starting to shape up. For the Democrats we've got Jerry Brown and
Gavin Newsom squaring off and as of today, Villariagosa announced he'd
not be entering the race (CNN: http://bit.ly/11KdVs). On the
Republican side things are shaping up as well. Meg Whitman, former CEO
of eBay and Tom Campbell have formed committees and are starting to
fundraise as well.

As things ramp up there will be plenty of opportunities to phone bank,
attend town hall meetings and of course, BAKE!

Right now, there are a few things you can do to support Gavin Newsom
in his race for Governor.

- June 30th Fundraising Deadline - The first of many fund raising
reporting deadlines are approaching and your contribution however big
or small keeps the momentum going. Donate Here:

- Pride Week Kick-Off @ Lime with Jose Cisnerios from 6-8: Tickets &
RSVP @ http://bit.ly/newsomatlime

Please let me know if you have any questions about the campaign and
I'll do my best to find the info or connect you to the right person.

- Thanks, Derek
