Apologies if you receive duplicate messages.

I just learned that the county has received a very robust number of applicants. Since I wrote into the resolution certain categories of population, I learned also today that it would be most useful to have more "end user" applicants, such as those who make dishes from local foods--for example, the university food service, local restaurants, nursing homes, hospitals, the jails, Prairie Fruit Farms, Common Ground Co-op. etc. You get the idea.

For convenience, I am including below all of the necessary information in case you would like to share this with people who fall into this description.

Thanks, P2

This is a REMINDER that the deadline to be considered for this council is fast approaching.  The application DEADLINE is 27 April; this coming Friday. The online application can be found on the county web site. (See below for all of the detailed information.) UNFORTUNATELY, the application can not be submitted electronically so give yourself time to mail it in. This appointments are scheduled to be made at he 24 May county board meeting. To be part of the first county residents to be appointed to the council is an exciting opportunity to expand economic development opportunities within the county.

Here is the detailed information.

After the CB meeting when the resolution was passed, a fellow CB member pointedly made this challenge--that there will be no farmers interested in this council. Turning this challenge into an opportunity, I am writing to encourage all who are interested in local foods to submit an application for appointment to the council. The opportunities for what the council can accomplish will be limited only by the imaginations of those appointed. Application deadline is 27 April and the CB will approve the appointments to the council on 24 May.

All of the necessary information to apply for the council can be obtained here

Patsi,

Any chance Leslie and I could occupy a "joint" seat?  Given how hard it is to be sure the same one of us would always be able to attend meetings?

Absolutely. Use the perspective that this dual representation can be both local food grower and local food user with your famous meals.
