Champaign County Local Food Policy Council resolution

Good evening, I am writing to let you k now that this evening the county board passed this resolution. My thanks to all of you helped get the resolution passed. This was not easy because the rural Republican row farmers voted against the resolution. Based on the expressed arguments, there appears to be a perceived lack of room for both row farmers and local food farmers in this county.

I want to encourage each and everyone of you to apply to become a member of the council. One can apply online on the county web site. This ought to be available by mid next week. I will post a second message with more details as soon as I learn about the deadlines and process for being chosen.
