Dear Jenjoy,

I write on behalf of a "bold, visionary, tangible initiative" that is
both "focused on a well-defined need of critical importance" and "has
significant potential to solve
humanity's most pressing problems."

That initiative is led by Museo Aero Solar or MAS for short. MAS is
nearly five years old, and you can explore and discover some of MAS's
nature and significance by browsing journalism, blogged reports, radio
interviews, videos and/or photos that people have spontaneously
created and left to be perused at http://museoaerosolar.org,
http://museoaerosolar.wikispaces.com, http://lawoftheair.com and other
websites, just search the internet and you will find more examples.

MAS has no direct connection to Fuller, nor promotes any one, specific
solution to the world's problems, but its history manifests many
resonances and sympathies with major "great circles" of Fuller's
thought, such as "Cloud Nine" and his view of social activism. To be
more specific, but concise:
On a material design level, MAS is the only on-going iterative
experiment in "Cloud-Nine-type" passive, geodesically-coordinated
solar-heated balloon technology.
On a social level MAS echoes Fuller's personal disinclination to
convince or persuade; MAS only goes where it is invited.

MAS has never recruited funding before, but found in the BFI Challenge
Statement the possibility of a partner to foster its growth, either in
the technological direction of Cloud Nine prototype research and
development, or in a social direction discovering a method suitable to
promote MAS's ability to respond to landing requests, or some
combination of both. MAS opened a discussion on its wiki and drafted
an application, Draft#1, which was found to be inadequate. Draft#2 has
been deemed compelling, but lacking in the social dynamics so
essential to a proper, healthy MAS landing. You can read them on the
wiki, http://museoaerosolar.wikispaces.com/BFI+00+Project+Name, in the
page or the history.

I write to you requesting pre-application clarification, because MAS
is considering writing a new draft, but found you offer of a dialog
compelling, if that dialog could clarify our mutual interests. If you
think you find a mutually beneficial match between the BFI Challenge
goals and MAS's activities, and if you are prepared to discuss it, let
me know, I will have more logistical and practical questions to
follow.

Thanks so much, both from me personally, and thanks on behalf of MAS
for all the wonderful work you have done and continue to do.

Sincerely,

Law of the Air
