Subject: Fw: Social Innovation Conversations Updates

Note to CC: & BCC list  :    HIV Supportive Service Agencies  :  Standards of Care

You might find the topic of this letter of interest.  It relates to HIV Supportive Services and the conditions of a "failing service standards" instilled in the
Oakland HIV supportive agencies.  These are serious life and wellness health related issues that you individually as a PWA are directly affected by a failing supportive service network.

Perhaps there are solutions [or at least a comparative] that can be reflected and talked among yourselves in community [one to one].
These are important concerns of the "standards of care" that I have been attempting to express for many many months.

Please reply if you need any clarification or would like to discuss anything here by phone.
I have a free unlimited long distance calling plan on my telephone service -- so phone costs are not a factor!

Thank you for your time to read.

Doctor Howard: [FootHill Aids Project Mental Health Director]

Thank you for our session time today.

I want to reaffirm my vision about "the printouts" [email] that I have been giving you recently.

Is a picture worth a thousand words of ideal?

"We are uniquely positioned to support nonprofits by providing free and low cost education opportunities to emerging nonprofit leaders and social entrepreneurs, thereby fulfilling our mission of "Providing knowledge, resources and visibility to the next generation of nonprofit leaders."

See the vision that I am exposed to daily?

"computer skills / computer classes / computer literacy"
There are FREE! solutions at reach to us all.

Do you want to actually engage with me? I sure hope so.

That is what I am attempting to gain control to effectively and efficiently relate my concerns -- by way of the "proper channels" as I mentioned.   This is the set of goals I have in mind with our therapy sessions.

With my technical skills, I can directly help staff and/or clients with computer and information needs.  But even if I was not presently intersecting you as a FAP client... There would still be solutions right here that offer FAP to reach up --- to the betterment of all FAP clients.  Moreover, the local HIV community and the world community at large.

There cannot be any excuses from your site of service support here to roadblock the "education opportunities" that I have directly mentioned which is mirrored in the Mission | History of CraigsList Foundation

The mission of this foundation impacts my vision of my individual needs assessments in the "communication goals" that we discussed and defined today for our future sessions.

Where is the interest from others around me out here in this working world of 2006?

I want to meet up with them soon. This is when and after my mental empowerment and self-actualization needs have been replaced and reactivated in my life.  Perhaps just the separation itself from events in Oakland California can mend my mental state.

I hope that there is clarity here with the staff at Foothills Aids Project [FAP] and of the Inland Empire HIV Planning Council. I find there seems to be solutions in place here in this community, Thank God!
In the Local Oakland HIV agency supportive services, there is no visibility or forum of community support such as this to accept concerns and voices from us as PWAs in the HIV community. I kept asking --- no apprise offered back to me [and to us].

All though my expressions of concerns in the past 24 months of attempted dialog relates to  "STANDARDS" that are failing.  It is an very prevalent theme in my writings.

In all of what happened in the aftermath, it results to an unlawful eviction case in Oakland HIV/AIDS supportive housing.  It is apparent that they don't give human care or concern.

They must be "*UCKED UP HUMAN" !!

I would make a bet that if you took a careful eye and look at the innermath, they are fleecing the HIV/AIDS Ryan White Title I Funding programs directly into their pockets.

Would they care to directly reply to me in private or in my public group forum to all of what happened to me?  They sit there and remain silent.

Perhaps I will have to write a book to redeem and release the feelings of emotional abuse that I encountered and was a target of.  This successfully outcast me as a pariah from their local HIV community in Oakland.

And I have to again question where is the "common sense" to standards.
Why? And who is next on their target list?

I strongly hold these views and would declare under penalty and perjury that they are true.  Some of the underlying details I have provided to you, but many have not yet been expressed.

In our therapy sessions is where I must be able to find resolve at this time.  This to rebuild my self-actualization of my human spirit.

I want to whole heartily thank you for all of what you do and can offer me to mental health wellness.

BE SURE TO VOTE TOMORROW!

Mr. James M. Driskill

Dear FootHill Aids Project Staff:

The "resource materials" I provide below sounds just right for manifesting a positive change attitude with support services of the local HIV community.

This is the way the world works in the year 2006.  Are we in the "real up human" world or not?

Eric and Alana's Conversations Update: Nov. 6, 2006

What's Your Story?

A few months ago, I attended a conference where scientists presented the best in evidence-based social programs. Although the attendees were grappling with some of the most poignant problems of our times—HIV, child abuse, and drug abuse, to name a few—what really excited their passions was debating how to measure effect sizes, what to do about missing data, and other mathematical minutiae.

An exception was the conference's keynote speaker, who is the creator of a national program that teaches young mothers how to take care of their babies. In his address, he retraced the paths of three women who had graduated from his program, peppering their stories with only a few statistical analyses. When the lights came up, I hurriedly blinked away the shine in my eyes, as did half of the other attendees.

The other half, however, were outraged. "Oh. My. God. Did you see how he presented that subgroup analysis before the omnibus test?" they cried. "I can't believe he used regression instead of hierarchical linear modeling!" they fumed.

At that moment, I stumbled upon the secret to everything good in the world—good writing, good speaking, good editing, and, yes, good fundraising. That secret is: Specialists love stats, but the rest of us want a good story. Your grandmother knows this. We at Stanford Social Innovation Review know this.

And Kay Sprinkel Grace, founder and principal of Transforming Philanthropy, LLC, also knows this. In her keynote address at Craigslist Bootcamp, she shows how storytelling is one of the best ways to communicate your organization's mission, vision, and values. And if her podcast makes you want to read more about crafting messages with legs, SSIR has several articles for you:

"I Want You to Meet Joe" How a riveting story can get your message across

"Crisis Mentality" Why sudden emergencies attract more funds than do chronic conditions, and how nonprofits can change that

"Loud and Clear" Crafting messages that stick: What nonprofits can learn from urban legends

So tune in, read on, and learn how to tell your story.

Thank you for listening.

Pamela Hawley: Social Entrepreneurship Landscape
When approaching funders and volunteers, Pamela Hawley says that you must "come from a space of opportunity and not from a space of need. You are giving that [person] an opportunity to give to you and to create a partnership." Drawing from her experience with UniversalGiving and VolunteerMatch, Hawley describes what it takes to create a successful social entrepreneurship organization.
