Odd Cartoons in 1950's "Richfield News"

The cartoons:
blowuptwincities.gif and ironorefuture.gif
both in the "Files" section of this group were in the 1954 & 1955
(sorry do not have edition numbers or exact dates) of the "Richfield
News" I thought this was bizarre as the cartoons focus was the iron
range and it ran as a regular feature. There was no indication that it
was an ad but it certainly appears to be so. Does anyone know anything
about this cartoon/cartoonist?
