If you would like to join the call that Nicole Foss and Aaron W. Wissner (me) will be having at 6:00 p.m. EDT on Monday, May 25, 2020; then please use this link to register to the talk :-)

We'll be forecasting the future, or at least examining the probability and risks given everything we've gathered in up to this point. :-)

[If we do have another forecaster on the call, like David K, or Gail T, we may invite them in as well{.  :-) ]

I'd like to have at least an hour of general audience Q & A, if Nicole is up to it. :-)

Note: you can log in to Zoom using your Gmail or Facebook credentials; or create a free account.

On of our calls, I think the unpublished one, was four hours, so depending on our stamina, it might go on for a while.

Who is invited?  The direct contacts of Nicole and mine (Aaron).  I'm emailing and sharing to FB to my core groups and lists (probably about 1,000 people in total).

Nicole will probably do the same.  The Zoom is limited to 100 people; but any that don't get in can always go to the live stream, which will be here:

and if it doesn't pop up, the look on my Facebook page:

Touch Stones:

1.  please keep your video off, and your microphone muted.  I don't know exactly how Zoom works, but I have concerns about bandwidth up/down, especially since I will be receiving the streams from all of you, and then turning around and broadcasting that to YouTube.  I may have to ask people to switch over to the YouTube stream, if Nicole's connection gets dicey.  Not a big issue, it is the same content, only delayed about 10-seconds

2. please write down the questions first; or the comments, and if possible, let's see if we can figure a way to upvote them, so that we're addressing common questions first, since time is limited
3. I plan on there being an opportunity to thank Nicole in a tangible way, and to catch up on past thanks.  If you have a PayPal account, then you might want to make sure you are logged in to that

4. Either I, or another moderator, will spend at least an hour chatting with Nicole; this is in addition to the hour of Q & A.  I may start with one leading question, to get something catchy to draw in the audience for the video.  Something like:  Will war come in 2020?  That would be interesting to talk about, and attract attention

5. We are all learning here, so patience, as always, is greatly appreciated.  If you have not yet watched Nicole's previous four talks, please consider watching them first; and even her earlier work

Thank you so much for joining us! :-)

The more, the merrier! :-)

Let's build a community of the altruistic and informed :-)

I love you!

Aaron

Hi Lou and VAL 2011, I'm going to respond to Lou's question first about how to best view the 6.5 hour conversation that Nicole Foss and I broadcast last night about the positive vision for the (more) local future, facing the fear of death, and understanding the predicament we are all in.  The rest of this email is for everyone, especially those interested in Vision - Action - Leadership 2020 -- VAL 2020, the next conference   :-)

Thanks for the question, the video should play better today, especially if you set the resolution to the lowest level.  To do that, click on the Gear, which should be at the lower right of the player, then Quality, and then 144p, which will still have very excellent audio, but the picture will just be soft.  And, I know that Nicole and I are both quite attractive, but we look even better with a soft filter :-)  lol

Regarding in person, I would love to do an in person conference, but with the current predicament, I'm not sure how that would work... yet.  Ultimately, we really need to move to the next level of conference, which is a model that I developed, based on Bioneers, which I call the "distributed conference".  This was meant to be the 2012 or 2013 conference.  This is how it works:

People get together, in groups, of any size, in their own neighborhoods, or communities, or alone, or with family, and they hold a local conference.  There would be an agenda, which all sites would follow simulataneously.  There would be live talks, which originated from wherever the speakers are.  So, for example, Nicole Foss could be presenting from a group meeting in New Zealand, say, with 50-100 people there, but she would broadcast live from there, and all the other sites (and individuals) would tune in.  Then, there would be Q&A with upvoted questions generated everywhere during the talk.  Then there would be individual facilitated (or just following the touch-stones) conversations, for say, 30-minutes to an hour.  Then, another talk, this time from Richard Heiberg in California, or Steve Keen in New Zealand, or Sally Erickson in Maine, or Ellen Brown in Arizona.

We could also include some panel discussions, but that would depend a lot on geography, and when people are awake! :-)  For example, Steve and Nicole and I (and one other vegan permacutlurist woman, I don't know who that would be yet) are setting up a call for Monday 6/1/2020 at 9:00 p.m. EDT.  But for Steve, it is 8 a.m. Tuesday, and for Nicole it is 1 p.m. Tuesday.  So, depending on geography, the panels would be restricted to certain hours :-)

Of course, that stuff could be pre recorded.  We could do this conference tomorrow, globally, if we used all prerecorded stuff.  It would just take an agenda, that's all, and inviting people to join along.

And, of course, it could be more like Chris Martenson's "Crash Course"

or Richard Heinberg's "Think Resilience",

which are both excellent, other than they lack the actual person-to-person aspect..  But those are both great :-)

And, nothing to slow you from starting groups in your own community.  I would show up as a facilitator or speaker or whatever since you are only  3.5 hours from me... although that is a long, long drive, that that would be like 10+ hours out of my life; so I'd much prefer something near where I live, within 30-miles, like at Circle Pines Center, or a local township hall, or library, or school, or college, or etc. :-)

Best,

Aaron

I did get to watch a portion of you conversation with Nicole but was frustrated with the amount
of buffering my computer was doing every couple sentences so finally signed off.
Do you have any actual physical meetings ?
I would certainly be interested in anything like we did years ago with Nicole in Grand rapids.
We live on a small farm in Alden Michigan.
