Victoria,
I didn't see a description of what a kitchen incubator is and I'm not
familiar with the term. I can't make it tomorrow to the event but would
be curious to know what the term means.

The Starting Block's commercial kitchen facility is available to:

  • Producers and packagers of specialty and gourmet food
  • Caterers
  • Church, School, Civic Groups

 

 

The Starting Block is West Michigan's Non-Profit Regional Kitchen Incubator and Entrepreneurial Center Located in Hart, Oceana County

 

 

 

It is a place for small business owners to learn more about the technical aspects of food production and receive assistance in:

  • Product development
  • Ingredient sourcing
  • Packaging and labeling
  • UPC Coding
  • Shelf-life information
  • Nutritional Analysis Information
  • Marketing strategies and more

The SB's kitchen is a home for individuals who want to take a special recipe to market or create a food or natural resource business. We provide:

  • A commercial test kitchen for start-up and existing food processors
  • Low-cost office rent including computer, internet access, phone and office support
  • Expert resources through Michigan State University's business, food science, and food packaging schools, and MSU Product Center and the University of Michigan
