YAY! DjangoCon is coming to D.C.! Let's discuss what we have been
doing or need to be doing, etc. If you have ideas, please post them! I
want to make sure that we give the Django community a reason to come
back to our fine city.

In Progress:
Katie has been pulling together content for blog posts for the site.
I have been soliciting sprint locations. This maybe complete already.
I will find out soon. If it is not, then I will probably be posting to
ask for your help with ideas for locations.

The Plone 2008 Conference did its sprints at a local community center.
It was an awesome location. Let me see if I can drag it up. If that
one wouldn't work, I'm sure there's other community centers we could
rent. Do we have a budget for that, yet?

The blog posts are waiting on the official announcement (Oi! And I
didn't have any back-up posts this week! What was I thinking?!)

There is the possibility of budget, but they are hoping to get a
donated space.
I have been talking to PBS, and they sound like they are going to
agree, but that isn't confirmed. So, I don't think we need to pursue
the community center just yet.

Ah, good! Because the one they used in 2008 isn't off of the Metro.
PBS would be so much better!

Let's hope it works out! I will update the list if it does.
If not, I was thinking of reaching out to the Farragut North / Dupont corridor. There are a lot of places in that area that donate space. The only problem with that area is if people are staying in Crystal City, then they will have to transfer metros. Right now it is non-issue, but something I have in the back of my head.

Have you talked with the Sunlight Labs people yet? I know Jeremy was interested in hosting sprints when we talked after the last django-district and they have a prime location both in terms of space and proximity to metro stations, food and drink.

Not yet. I was trying to get PBS first, because it was closest to the conference site.
Sunlight will be hit up second if PBS falls through.
