I used the following command line as there is a local copy of the install files on our KMS licensed professional plus version. Using the standard command lines didnt work and we received the error message your installation is corrupt.

I have HP office pro 8600 plus. I followed the instruction on the manual and set up scan to email. But scan to email does not work. I keep getting error messages. Under outgoing email profile I click on 'test' and I get 'connection failed'

I called Microsoft but they were no help.

I was going to buy a new key on ebay as you can normally get someone's old key for a few bucks but apparently, that required a new installation which I hoped I could avoid.

So, my question is, since I ONLY need Word and Excel. What's the least or cheapest I can get away with that looks the same as office professional plus 2010.

I don't like new looks and a learniing curve but the keys that were on ebay have been sold.

I'm broke so I'm looking for something cheap and since I already have the software on my computer (It's stored if I need to reinstall it), I really only need a key unless someone else has any other ideas.

Also, not sure what version of office is what but again, I only use word and Excel.

All the free suites, which work well enough but if you have things like Excel spreadsheets with complex macros or formulas the one document you absolutely/positively have to access you can bet none of the free office suites will open the thing correctly. If you use a 4k monitor you can encounter scaling problems, I have, with the freebies.

All of those free office suites are better than the free but bizarre office Apps Apple gives away with MacOS. Those also will not open complex Excel spread sheets correctly, at least not mine. Microsoft gives access to limited versions of Office apps on-line for documents stored on Onedrive, which is all I really need when I use an Apple machine but in Windows I gotta have the real thing.

Yeah, I've tried open office and had issues so I nixed it and no, I don't feel the need for newer versions as I never use the newer features. EVERYTHING I have is older and I much prefer them 'cause it seems that much like google, when they update something, they mess it up.

By the way, this is also the reason I have never tried to move to a linux platform, all the different proggies I use that may or may not be available in linux.I use some 40 different programs, shareware, freeware and regular software and I am not going through the list of all of them to see if they're compatible.
